Chiel van Zelst

Chiel van Zelst (Amsterdam 1964) studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and at the School of Visual Arts in New York. His specialty is the Amsterdam cityscape. With speed and vitality, he puts his subject on the canvas and gives his own twist to this age-old genre. His lively style of painting is influenced by the old masters, contemporary street art and graffiti culture, together they form a unique, new style of painting.
