Conny Roels is born in 1960.
Wife and mother of two children in their mid twenties.
Three years ago she started painting almost obsessively. She loves figurative painting. Therefore, she wants to master the human anatomy. For two years now she is a student in Latems Creatief where artists practice life drawing and in September 2015 she enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Oudenaarde. There she practices different techniques in oil painting and tries very hard to manage colour blending.
Despite of the somewhat strange and surreal subjects of her paintings, she wants to maintain the positivity. Witness the sparkling eyes, optimistic smiles, proud attitudes, humour and the use of bright colours.
Conny always has inspiration, which makes her restless. She is very driven and full of passion. She wants to improve! Last summer (2015) she got silver at the contest exhibition MAEKV in De Panne and gold in Lissewege. These medals motivated her to improve and according to her it will never be good enough. But ‘that’s the real spirit’, she says, ‘striving for the best makes you stronger and stronger’!
Enjoy her work!
