A couple of years ago I discovered a hidden talent. As a child I could draw for hours, because creativity is in our family. But from the moment I went to university I have never touched a pencil again. From a young age I have been involved in photography a lot and later on in image editing. After my graduation in film- and television science in Amsterdam I worked 14 years as a reporter and director for television and that for sure has contributed to my visual development as well. The desire to create beautiful images runs like a thread through my life.
From the first painting lesson I felt that I was in my place and that all my creativity was rekindled. The paint, the brushes, the canvas, in one way or another it felt so familiar and I instantly knew: I will never stop doing this! Since then painting for me is like a big journey of discovery to the endless possibilities of colors, brushes en techniques. That can be clearly seen in my work, all my paintings are an exploration in itself. In the past years I mostly followed my feelings and I did what came up to mind. It’s not my main goal to find my own style as soon as possible and be recognizable. I just want to create beautiful stuff and feel the freedom to express and develop myself in any direction.
Meanwhile I’am available for painting assignments.
