Biography
Several years ago my grandmother said to me: "Bert, why don't you draw anymore? You were so good at it. You could have gone far with that!" So for her next birthday I drew her portrait. And that's how it all started...
After drawing for a while, I decided to try it with paint and brushes. First acrylic, then also with oil paint.
With the exception of a few drawing lessons and two painting lessons, I am completely self-taught. It is through the mistakes I made, and then figuring out how not to make them again, that I became the painter I am today.
Painting has opened up a whole new world to me. I like doing it, I enjoy it, and I intend to keep doing it!
