Dorrety Brookhuis lives in Amersfoort, she is married and has 3 daughters.
works as a graphic designer and has been painting passionately for years.
Friends and family call her Dort.
She always signs her paintings with that name, because...
sees every painting she makes as a piece
of herself, as family and as a good friend.
Once started with watercolor paint, and now works passionately and happily with acrylic paint, watercolor paint, pastels and water inks, sometimes a combination of these.
Training in the evenings, supplemented with various workshops and
lessons with various artists have ensured that she has found her own style, colorful, full of energy and expression.
She herself says:"I don't have and don't want a fixed style. Sometimes the work is figurative, other times more abstract.
There are already enough rules in my life and when I paint, I can do anything, there are no limits.
I want every painting to be fascinating and to last
to look at.
My paintings tell their own story, which sounds different every time and can be heard differently by everyone.
I hope everyone enjoys the paintings just as much
looks and “listens”, as with what I painted them”.
