Biography
"Henk Veen, a true Amsterdammer, draws his inspiration from the life he lives in Amsterdam. This makes his paintings very recognizable and he tries to put the sensitive and daily, sometimes comical reality on the canvas, full of love and passion, in color.
As materials he uses spray paint, acrylic paint and paints with brush, stick and stencils, with which he can capture his emotions without detours. He paints lively colorful canvases that are characterized by the "layer over layer" technique, which gives more depth through this technique and the mist of spray paint and gives the colors a warm appearance. The unique finishing touch, SignArt (drawn art with paint with a stick), will bring the painting to life. Henk Veen always opts for a tangible image, where the slogans reinforce the figures on the canvas. Most of his paintings show what Henk Veen is all about: music, sports, reality, relationships, relaxation and love!
Henk was able to create a souvenir for the business runners of the Dam tot Dam in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2014, and in 2009 he designed the Nike Sunday shirt. And of course the project for the Cruyff Foundation, where he painted with various celebrities in the corner window of the Bijenkorf Amsterdam, including with Johan Cruijff himself and the Henk Veen Johan Cruijff tram that drove through Amsterdam for four months.
